“The main thing is not what we are talking about but is how the audience feels and what is more important is that they change their attitudes and behaviors to achieve the best results at work”.
The work of educators is not simply giving lecture. To guide and train trainees, they must be “a moral leader” and “enthusiasm transmitter” to the trainees. Often, we can notice that when we say right things people do not listen to nor want to follow. Even when the topic is captivating and beneficial, people are not interested in either. This is a big challenge to educators. This task is even more difficult in many of the SOS Children’s Villages.
With the aim to increase the teaching quality of staff at all SOS Children’s Villages across the country, during three days, 24, 26 and 27 September 2007, Tam Viet Group collaborated with Viet Nam SOS Children’s Village to organize a training programme on ‘Teaching, Communication, and Teamwork Skills’ for three deputy directors of three SOS Children’s Villages together with 21 other staff. The session was conducted by three instructors: Ms. Lam Huong Giang, Mr. Nguyen Khac Hieu, and Ms. Tran Thi Theu.
All trainees recognized the creativity, usefulness, and simplicity of their lessons. Mr. Nguyen Khac Trong, Deputy Director of Da Lat SOS Children’s Village shared his experience, “I was really excited when I participated in this programme. The lessons were very specific, practical, and useful for our job. I will apply the experiential learning methodology to teach our unfortunate children and orphans at the SOS Village”. Mr. Dao Xuan Minh, Deputy Director of Viet Tri SOS Children’s Village also expressed his view: “The new communication technique has attracted great interest from the audience, encouraging them to work together to achieve the highest result. The distance between the speaker and audience was significantly reduced, creating a friendly atmosphere”. Mr. Bay, who participated for the second time in the training programme, said, “Although I have already known this, I still find Tam Viet’s teaching technique very enchanting. We often pay great attention to what we say, despite the fact that we should be more concerned about the audience. Now I have learnt many valuable lessons such as being more attentive to each individual, moving in a triangular motion, leaning forward and backward, etc.”
Seeing themselves as supporters, all instructors of Tam Viet had created an atmosphere where all trainees were able to experience, analyze, and learn valuable lessons for application in their life and work.
Each lesson ended with great enthusiasm. SOS Children’s Villages looked forward to further collaboration with Tam Viet Group. The next training sessions are expected in mid-October. Nguồn:
